DJ DarkRum from Añejo ProductionsDJ Dark Rum from Añejo Productions (San Francisco) - confirmed

Rick "DJ Dark Rum" Washington has been passionate about music since childhood. He played bass guitar to Jimi Hendrix tunes at 13, DJ’d high school hip hop parties at 16, and produced tracks for a hip hop artist at age 21. In the early 90's, the young naive DJ/producer walked into the Salón Rosado Benny Moré (aka - La Tropical) in La Habana Cuba and experienced an Afro-Cuban cultural awakening that would change his life forever - Timba! Later, with the assistance of high school friends Walter Vela &Alvaro Batista, Rick created Añejo Productions, a DJ/event promotion group committed to providing their hometown of San Francisco with the best in Salsa con Timba y Reggaeton. Their first infamous club event "LA TROPI-CAL" @ il Pirata has been going strong "every last Friday of the month!" for almost 8 years; its weekly sister party "La Bodeguita del Medio" @ Lil Baobab has been carrying on for over 3 years. In addition to the aforementioned, he has organized concerts for such artists &bands as 90 millas, El Pikete, La Charanga Cubana, Chalo y su Ache, Danny Lozada, &Pepito Gomez as well as various Bay Area artists.

In April of 2006 Rick posted one of the first rueda videos on YouTube, a demonstration of a basic rueda which featured members of ¡Timbea!, Isaac Kos-Read, Anejo Productions co-founder Alvaro Batista and Rick himself. His original intent for producing and posting the video was to encourage high school students to learn the dance but it reached far more viewers and potential casineros than he ever imagined, building the community and sharing this dance with those who otherwise would be oblivious to the world of rueda.

DJ DarkRum has dedicated himself to strengthening and building the Timba community globally. If he is not DJing for Timba crazed casineros, or teaching his weekly Rueda de Casino class, he is out on the dance floor dancing, meeting new people and encouraging others to do the same.

You can find more information on Rick "DJ Dark Rum" and Añejo Productions by visiting their website or Facebook page.

DJ Cano DJ P.A. Trix (Santa Fe, New Mexico) - confirmed

" DJ P.A. Trix" is also known as Patrick Noble when he' s not spinning great music. A native of Santa Fe, New Mexico, Patrick first got on a plane to Havana in 1997. He quickly found venues such as El Palacio De La Salsa, La Tropical, and outdoor street concerts. He was hooked. Attending concerts by Issac Delgado, Los Van Van, NG La Banda, Manolito y Su Trabuco, Charanga Habanera, Bamboleo and others, he could not get enough.

Patrick was mesmerized not only by the music and dance of contemporary Cuba but also by the way Timba reflected the Cuban people and the streets of Havana. Many great friends and many more trips to Cuba followed-- including 6 months where he completed a semester at La Universidad De La Habana. Patrick wrote his undergraduate ethnomusicology thesis at Harvard on Timba and in the process got to interview many of the most popular Timba artists as well as collaborate with Kevin Moore, who was just starting the website Timba.com

A former jazz musician and a current dancer, Patrick has been a DJ for many different Salsa events since 2002. DJ P.A.Trix spins Timba mixed with other Latin sounds at his popular bi-weekly event " ¡Tumbao!" in Santa Fe. A late edition to the SALSAtlanta line up Patrick is excited to be playing for a crowd of dancers that has come specifically for " the 3 day Cuban party!"
